Service description

Debbie Dell Netcare is working with its sister company BMI Healthcare to provide services to the NHS under the Department of Health's patient choice programme.

Under this programme, GPs are able directly to refer and book appointments for NHS patients to BMI hospitals throughout the UK. Referrals will be subject to PCT's commissioning arrangements.

Patients experience a seamless clinical care pathway, from referral to discharge to follow-up. The service involves a wide range of routine elective procedures, including:

  • Laparoscopic cholecystectomy - gall bladder removal

  • Hernia repairs

  • Endoscopies – therapeutic and diagnostic as indicated

  • Arthroplasty – hip and knee replacements

  • Arthroscopies - therapeutic and diagnostic as indicated

  • Muscle/tendon and ligament procedures – anterior cruciate repairs

  • Ear, nose and throat procedures – tonsillectomies.
